Pedestrian, 19, Seriously Injured on East Pulaski Road

A foreign exchange student was seriously injured Friday night when he was hit by a car in Huntington Station.

Suffolk County police said that Sung Hyun Bae, 19, was walking in the middle of the roadway in front of 109 East Pulaski Road with two other pedestrians when he was struck by an eastbound 2019 Dodge sedan at approximately 10:40 p.m.

Bae, 19, a South Korean exchange student staying in Huntington Station, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow in serious condition.

The driver of the Dodge, Thomas Lane, 21, of Huntington Station was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
