Pedestrian Injured on Route 110 in Melville

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Melville Saturday night. 

David Vilaca, 26, of Melville, was crossing Route 110 from west to east, near Fletcher Place, against the light when he was struck by a 2016 Jeep Renegade at approximately 8:20 p.m.

Vilaca was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of a serious injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, Bradley Zucker, 22, of West Babylon, and a female passenger were not injured.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
