A pedestrian was killed Tuesday after he was struck by a car on Broadhollow Road in Melville, Suffolk County police said.
Sophia Mukhtarzada was driving a 2010 Honda Civic south on Broadhollow Road, south of the Long Island Expressway, when the vehicle struck a male pedestrian in the road at about 5:30 p.m.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mukhtarzada, 22, of Farmingdale was not injured.
Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating the crash.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
