Pedestrian Killed on New York Avenue

A man crossing New York Avenue in Huntington was killed Wednesday night when he was hit by a car.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives said Miguel Jiminez-Villa  of Huntington was hit at approximately 11:40 p.m. when he was struck by a 2009 Nissan sedan travelling south on New York Avenue. The accident happened at 241 New York Ave.

Jiminez-Villa, approximately 55 years old, was taken by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Nissan, Andrew Skei, 26, of Lynbrook, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
