Pedestrian Seriously Hurt in Huntington Station Hit-and-Run

A Huntington Station man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning, Suffolk County Police said.

Jiron Santos-Porfiro was on the east side of New York Avenue at East 14th Street when he was struck by a vehicle heading north on New York Avenue at approximately 12:50 a.m.

The vehicle, described as a dark-colored sedan, fled the scene without stopping.

Second Squad detectives are investigating.

Santos-Porfiro, 42, was taken via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
