Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Huntington Station

A pedestrian was struck by a car in Huntington Station and seriously injured early Sunday morning, Suffolk County Police said.

A Brooklyn man who was driving  north on New York Avenue just north of East 12th Street struck a male pedestrian who had stepped into the traffic lane, police said. The accident occurred about 2:30 a.m.

The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified by police, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver was not injured.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the pedestrian’s identity or the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
