Huntington residents are invited to join a polar plunge Dec.11 to raise funds for Special Olympics athletes.
Participants will line up on the sands of Frank P. Petrone Crab Meadow Beach and then head into the cold waters.
“The Polar Plunge is a great way for the community to come together in support of our local Special Olympians. I was proud to help bring this event to the Town of Huntington last year, and am excited to continue the tradition this December together with co-sponsor Councilman Dr. Dave Bennardo.”
The plunge is set for 11:30; registration opens at 10 a.m. Participants raise funds by inviting sponsors to support their derring-do.
