Police Appreciation Run Set for June 2

Registration is open for the 31st annual avid Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation 5K Run, which supports Long Island  police officers and their families who have fallen on tough times.

David Lerner Associates, Inc. and the Greater Long Island Running Club sponsor the 5k race, which will be held at Eisenhower Park.

“The David Lerner Associates Police Appreciation Run is an event we look forward to every year, and we are incredibly proud to be able to help Long Island Law enforcement officers and their families,” said Martin Walcoe, president of David Lerner Associates.  “Sponsoring an event that raises funds to support them when they need it most is our way of showing our gratitude for their service and dedication to the wellbeing of our communities.”

Last year, donations out of the proceeds were presented to Suffolk County Police Officer Eric Dorfman to help his family with the expenses of a liver transplant for his 4 year old daughter Kennedy. Other checks went to the families of two officers who died of Covid-19 and other
