Postal Worker Accused of Stealing Mail


A worker at the Huntington Station post office distribution center was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing mail. 

Michael Rodriguez, 36, who lives in Cambria Heights, Queens, was accused of embezzling letters, packages, and mail between January and March of this year.
Rodriguez appeared  before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lee Dunst on Thursday and was released on his own recognizance.

Rodriguez and others are  under investigation in connection with a ring of individuals who have been illegally cashing checks and usingmoney orders stolen from the Huntington Station Processing and Distribution Center.

The  federal complaint against him provided images of what agents said shows him stuffing mail down his pants.
