Prolonged Storm Forecast for Huntington Area

A prolonged storm is expected to arrive Thursday morning in the Huntington area, bringing 3 to 6 inches of snow, followed by another 1 to 3 inches on Friday.

Snow is predicted to start after 8 a.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service said a light wintry mix of sleet a and/or freezing rain is possible Thursday evening before turning back to light snow on Friday and ending in the afternoon or evening.

PSEG Long Island said it is prepared for the heavy snow and sleet that could may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing power outages.
