Public Hearing Set Wednesday in Huntington on Suffolk Redistricting

A public hearing on Suffok County legislativeredistricting plans is scheduled for Wednesday in Huntington.
The eight-member Reapportionment Commission will take public comments for an hour, starting at 2 p.m., at Town Hall.

To speak in person at upcoming public hearings,  contact [email protected] with your name, address and the public hearing you are looking to speak at.  Written testimony will also be accepted until June 29. Letters can be mailed to the Suffolk County Legislature, ATTN: Brendan Sweeney.

Huntington residents are represented by several legislators, including Manny Esteban (16), Tom Donnelly (17), Stephanie Bontempi (18) and Rob Trotta (13).

Republicans and Democrats have been arguing for months over redistricting, required after every decennial US Census.

The Huntington public hearing is one of several planned around Suffolk County to gather input.
