Raia to Preside Over Wedding Marathon

Huntington Town Clerk Andrew P. Raia will perform his first marriage ceremony marathon  on Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 14.

“This marriage ceremony has been received enthusiastically and it would be a pleasure and honor to share in these couples’ happiness as they begin their new lives together,” he said.

A tradition started by former Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia,  the new town clerk will be performing the ceremonies in the Town Board Room, which will be transformed into a wonderful tribute to “Love’s Greatest Holiday.” Local merchants including bakeries, florists, supermarkets, pharmacies and photographers contribute to the event.

The couples and their guests are welcome to attend the wedding ceremony and reception at no charge.

“Of all the services I provide to the public, the opportunity to join two people in a lifetime of love and commitment is the part of my job that is the most heartwarming,” Raia said. “Why not choose Valentine’s Day as your wedding date and make the occasion a little more romantic?”
