The eastbound Northern State Parkway ramp to southbound Route 231 will continue to be closed for about eight weeks, the state Department of Transportation said Thursday..
Portable variable message signs and advanced signing have been placed to guide eastbound Northern State Parkway motorists wishing to head southbound on NYS 231/Deer Park Avenue to follow the detour to Exit 42N.
The work is part of the $15.7 million safety improvement project to upgrade the interchange, including construction of a new parkway entrance ramp, extension of existing acceleration and deceleration lanes and a new traffic signal at Deforest Road and NYS 231/Deer Park Avenue.
As with most road and bridge projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
