Real Estate: Average Huntington Home Price Increases 3 Percent

How’s the Market?

In 2019, we experienced a shift in the local real estate market. However, low interest rates and strong buyer demand resulted in the total number of transactions being on par with previous years.

The average sales price for the Huntington area was $659,270; up 3% from the prior year.

The top three record sales were all waterfront locations; a 6,3000 sq ft home in the Incorporated Village of Asharoken sold for $5,187,500; a 10 acre estate in Lloyd Neck that sold for $5,000,000 and a 7,500 sq ft also in Lloyd Neck that sold for $4,083,750.

The single most important factor in selling a home today continues to be proper pricing that accurately reflects the current market.  Fair market value is determined by what a buyer is willing to pay and what a seller is willing to accept.

Industry analysts are predicting a healthy market for the first half of 2020 sighting favorable interest rates and low inventory levels.
