These are some of the deaths recorded recently in Huntington.
Army veteran and life member of the Huntington Manor Fire Department. He was born and raised in Huntington Station. He leaves his wife Mary and children, Daniel Walker (Leah) and Victoria Weiss ( Christopher) and was brother to Gerald Walker and the late Ronald and Jeffrey Walker. He served as a member of the American Legion Riders within the American Legion Post 1244. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Husband of Maryann. Father of the late Michael (Kim), William (Laura) and Thomas. Grandfather of Daniel, Justin and Miles. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. at AL Jacobsen Funeral Home, funeral Monday 9:30 a.m., St. Hugh of Lincoln.

Mary V. McGuire, (1940-2020)  of Huntington Station

Mother of Mary Walsh and her husband Bobby, the late Susan McGuire, Debbie Hickox and her husband Andy, Margaret Seeloff, and John McGuire and his wife Jess. Funeral Mass was Friday at St. Hugh of Lincoln Church.Burial at St. Patrick’s cemetery in Huntington.

Frank S. Cavagnaro Jr. (1938-Dec.10, 2020) of Northport. 

Husband of Justine Cavagnaro. Father of Anna Cavagnaro, Angelina (Holger) Breckling, Andrew (Heidi) Cavagnaro, and Victoria (Mark) Pozza.

Patrick Joseph McNelis 1934-(Dec.5, 2020) of East Northport

He leaves his wife Irene of East Northport and Huletts Landing, NY, children Kathy of Plant City, FL, Kevin of Hauppauge, NY, Brian (Donna) of Roslyn Heights, NY, John (Pam) of Cupertino, CA, and Patrick (Christine) of Commack, NY; grandchildren Bryan, David, Katelyn, Molly, Amanda, Irene, Patrick, and John; great-grandchildren Jake and Julia and his sister Mary Cusack (Jerry) of Naples, FL. Pat is predeceased by his parents, children Thomas and Michael, and daughter-in-law Kerry.

Retired electrical engineer and on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Computers and Security, and teaching classes on computers and management at Polytechnic University and SUNY, Farmingdale.

Active at  St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church where he was a long-time teacher and Eucharistic Minister. Funeral services were Dec. 8.

Dolores T. Porretto of Kings Park (1935-Dec.7, 2020)

Dolores T. Porretto of Kings Park,  age of 85. Wife of Frank.mother of Denise Porretto and Deborah (Lisa) Porretto. Grandmother of Steven and Justin. Sister of Carolyn Fiorillo, Michael (Angela) Fiorillo and the late Thomas Fiorillo.

 

Joan Vorbach (1930-Dec.8, 2020)

Joan passed away  Dec. 8, 2020, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, at the age of 90 due to complications from Covid- 19.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Jack, eldest son, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Linda. She is survived by her sister, Nancy and brother, John.  Joan is also survived by her loving children: Jim, Jerry, Greg (Nancy), and Mary (Rich). She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held for all of her family and friends at a later date in 2021.
