Huntington residents were among those reporting register outages at Target stores around the country.
News media from USA Today to Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Chicago and beyond wrote that shoppers were having trouble checking out at stores on the busy Fathers Day weekend.
On Twitter, the @AskTarget Twitter account posted,“We are aware of a systems issue in store and are working as quickly as possible to get this fixed. Thank you for your patience!”
Downdetector.com reported that Target’s outage problems began at 1:42 p.m.
A local shopper said on Huntington Matters’ community forum on Facebook that he’d hidden a basket filled with goods at the store so that when registers reopened, he wouldn’t have to start shopping all over again.
