A shoplifter was killed in a confrontation with a 7-Eleven clerk in Melville, Newsday reported Thursday morning.
The paper said that the clerk pursed the shoplifter out of the store about 12:45 a.m. and killed the man in the confrontation.
The store is at 24-28 Broadhollow Road, police said.
No further information was immediately available.
