Huntington Republicans will be out this weekend carrying petitions for candidates nominated at state and Suffolk County conventions.
The candidates are: US Rep. Lee Zeldin, who is running for governor and former NYPD Deputy Inspector Alison Esposito for lieutenant governor; Joe Pinion for U.S. Senate, George Santos in the Third Congressional District; Nick LaLota in the First; Michael Henry for state attorney general; Paul Rodriguez for state comptroller; Mark Capodanno for State Senate in the Fifth; Assemblyman Keith Brown in the 12th Assembly District; Aamir Sultan for Assembly in the 10th; Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, Jr.; Vincent Puleo for county clerk; John Iliou and Karen Wilutis for Suffolk County Court judge, and Bronwyn Black for 3rd District Court judge.
Robert Zimmerman, who is running for Congress representing the Third District, has been endorsed by three Huntington Democrats.
Councilwoman Joan Cergol, Receiver of Taxes Jillian Guthman and former Town Supervisor Frank Petrone, have backed the Great Neck businessman to succeed US Rep. Tom Suozzi, who is running or governor.
“Our communities need leadership in Washington that will put the people first. Robert is that leader, and that is why I am endorsing his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives. Robert has been an outspoken advocate locally for our communities and nationally on issues impacting women, our seniors, the education of our children, veterans, and much more. As an attorney, I understand the critical importance of the rule of law, and defending our institutions and our voting rights. I know Robert will be the champion we need in Congress,” Guthman said.
