Cory Richards Named New Nikon Ambassador

Photographer, adventurer and alpinist Cory Richards has been named the new Nikon ambassador and will embark on a Mt. Everest expedition to photograph the world’s tallest mountain.

The Melville-based company announced Richards’ honor, who previously has been a visual storyteller and National Geographic photography fellow. Under his new ambassadorship, he will work with Nikon to chronicle his tour of the mountain using Nikon’s Z Series full frame mirror less cameras.

“Nikon Ambassadors are the most passionate and talented storytellers in the world, and we are thrilled to add Cory Richards to this esteemed roster,” said Jay Vannatter, executive vice president, Nikon Inc.

Richards said that he’s excited to embark on this next journey. “It doesn’t matter if I can’t feel my fingers, or what it feels like to be climbing at 26,500 feet without oxygen,” he said. “What matters is that I can share that experience through my lens, and somebody else can feel that by viewing our videos and images.”
