Town, Cinema Arts Sponsor Screening of Ginsburg Movie

The public is invited to  a free screening of the Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic, On the Basis of Sex, in celebration of Women’s History Month.

The showing is scheduled at the Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Ave., Huntington, on Tuesday at 2 pm.

“I hope all who attend the screening can learn from the struggles and accomplishments of Justice Bader Ginsburg,” said Supervisor Chad. A. Lupinacci. “The Town of Huntington possesses a rich history of accomplishments by women in government, including our first female Town Supervisor, Toni Rettaliata-Tepe, elected in 1987, and our first female Assemblywoman Ida Bunce Sammis, who was one of the first two women ever elected to the New York State Legislature in 1918.

After the movie screening, guests will be invited to the Cinema Arts Centre Sky Room to view a gallery of written works, “Words for Women,” and enjoy refreshments. Written works, essays, poems, prose, and lyrics on display have been composed by students, adults and seniors in the community.

Tickets for the movie screening are available in advance (limited to two per person) at the Town of Huntington Senior Center Main Office in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis while quantities last.
