Athletic Director Suspensions

The director of athletics for the Northport-East Northpport school district is serving his second suspension from his duties. First suspended in the summer of 2022, Mark Dantuono came back to work in November 2022, but was suspended again in February. The AD’s job is temporarily filled by John Piropato from the Massapequa school district. The district has declined to explain what led to the suspensions, with the state Public Employment Relations Board hearing complaints him. Asked last week for information, PERB told HuntingtonNow that information on its decision would be available at the libraries of its offices in Brooklyn, Albany or Buffalo, and that it would not be published on its website for at least a year.
