Schools: Book Donations, Musical All-Staters, Distracted Driving

Walt Whitman sophomore Victoria Isernia is collecting used children’s and teen books to donate  to Hindi’s Libraries that honors the legacy of teacher Dr. Hindi Krinsky.

Victoria, who plays softball, volleyball, is co-president of Natural Helpers, and is involved in the Interact and Ambassadors clubs, has already received 650 books since August.  “By donating and helping this organization,” Victoria said, “you’re not just helping our school, you’re helping all of the kids who want to read.”

Donations of new and gently used children’s and teen’s books can be made at the Walt Whitman High School main office Oct. 18. All books are donated to Hindi’s Libraries and distributed across the country to spread the love of literature with thousands of children.
