Kindergarten registration is well underway at Half Hollow Hills, and the on-site kindergarten screening is quickly approaching.
New kindergarteners must be registered by Friday, April 2, in order to be on the mailing list for the welcome newsletter and to receive the link to sign up for an appointment for kindergarten screening.
The online registration application and requirements are available on the Half Hollow Hills Student Registration Webpage. Parents should complete the entire application and upload the required documents to schedule a ZOOM registration meeting to review and finalize registration before April 2. Resident children of the Half Hollow Hills Central School District who will turn five years old by Dec. 31 are eligible for kindergarten in September.Contact the Registrar at (631) 592-3000 with any questions.
Art on Display
Harborfields High School seniors — Alexandra Hafen, Lili Noah, Anna Paradise and Ellie Smith —have artwork on display in Art League of Long Island’s 14th annual “GO APE” Advanced Placement Student Exhibition.
The virtual art exhibit features 2-D and 3-D artwork by 124 Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate students from 37 high schools across Long Island.
“This is an opportunity for what may be the first of many times these promising young art students will show their artwork in a professional gallery setting, albeit virtual for 2021,” the Art League of Long Island’s website said.
The virtual exhibit, on display until April 2, allows viewers to stroll the gallery’s virtual rooms and admire each artists’ work.
Virtual Enterprise
Walt Whitman High School’s Virtual Enterprise team LUKO has advanced to the national round of the Business Plan Presentation, ensuring their top 32 standing, and will be competing in April for national placement.
Instructed by Sandy Stueber, the LUKO company consists of 22 students who have been working together since September to build the LUKO business. The business plan presentation team for LUKO includes: Logan Bermudez, Jeremy Lanz, Jonathan Holleran, Aidan Gardner, Sebastian Koch, Matthew Desmond.
In addition to the presentation team, LUKO’s members are Benjamin D’Agostino, Belendjy Geneus, Isaiah Holm, Devon Linden, Daniel DiLeo, Tejasveer Khera, Jordell Brown, Dylan Cellamare, James McGorry, Michael McIndoo, Anthony Mendoza, Jack Neiland, Jace Nerzig, Zack Reichhold, Stephen Ryan, and Kortney Wilkerson Ferguson.
Virtual Enterprise (VE) is a student-directed competition-based business simulation that allows students to create and run every aspect of a business, while also competing against 430 Virtual Enterprise companies in over 20 regional, national, and global competitions throughout the year. This program welcomes a culminating business plan competition where they are judged by industry experts.
