Second Town Board Vote OKs Oheka Condo Plan

The Huntington Town Board on Monday cleaned up the language of a resolution that approved Oheka Castle’s bid to add luxury condominiums.

The approval had four yes votes, from Town Supervisor Ed Smyth, Gene Cook, Sal Ferro and Dr. David Bennardo, while Town Councilwoman Joan Cergol recused herself because of a prior working relationship with Oheka.

The new vote means that Oheka owner Gary Melius can proceed with submitting site plans for town approval.

Monday’s vote was essentially a repeat of last week’s vote but was necessitated by grammatical errors in the language of the original resolution.
