Seed Library to Open at South Huntington Library

The seed library is returning for its fourth season at the South Huntington Public Library on March 16.

Patrons will be able to obtain packets of organic, non-GMO, heirloom seeds for home gardening.

Packets of seed have been donated by several companies, including Seed Savers, High Mowing, Hudson Valley, Fedco and Baker Creek, including carrots, sunflowers, beans and tomatoes.

Growing instructions and tips on saving seeds are available at http://www.shpl.info/seed-library.

The library is also accepting seed donations, and contributions will be added to the community donations section of the seed library.

Available seeds range from artichoke to zucchini.
