The semi-pro basketball team the New York Hoop Dragons will host the Camden Monarchs for a playoff game Saturday in Dix Hills.
The team is part of the American Basketball Association which follows a November-April schedule.
The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Upper Room Christian School in Dix Hills.
The league, which was founded in 1999, is not connected with the previous ABA, which merged with the National Basketball Association in 1976. Many league teams feature distinctive names, such as the Vermont Frost Heaves, the Arkansas RimRockers, and the Manchester Millrats, along with more traditional sports names, such as the Jacksonville Giants and the Texas Mavericks.
The team is owned by Craig Sulema and Perry Tischler.
