The Huntington Historical Society kicked off the spring season Sunday with its Sheep to Shawl Festival at the Dr. Daniel W. Kissam House Museum property.
Activities included a demonstration of the shearing of a sheep and a goat, spinning, old-fashioned games, storytelling and crafts.
Dancers who are students at the Ohman School of Ballet in Commack danced around a maypole celebrating the arrival of spring. Children from the audience joined them in circling the maypole at the end of their performance.
