Suffolk County Second Precinct officers took about 40 children shopping Wednesday at the Target store in Huntington Station.
Santa Claus showed up for photos and pizza, while officers escorted the children through the aisles to pick out their favorite toys. Each child had $50 to spend.
The annual holiday program was supported by donations from Leaf Wellness Pharmacy, Healthfirst, the Huntington Assembly of God and 7-Eleven. Target contributed items for bags that were given to the children while several employees assisted with shopping questions or finding the kids’ chosen toys.
