‘Shop With a Cop’ Helps Fulfill Kids’ Holiday Wishes

Suffolk police, ranging from Commissioner Rodney Harrison to  several recruits, and other volunteers took about 40 kids shopping Thursday night at the Target store in Huntington Station.

The shopping excursion was made possible with a donation from developer Rosario Cassata, who covered the full cost of the outing and organized by the Second Precinct.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, along with volunteers from Housing Help, the Walt Whitman High School girls wrestling team, Target workers and Huntington Station’s Santa and Mrs. Claus, joined in the fun, which included pizza supplied by Mama Lucia’s Pizzeria in Huntington Station.

Roblox systems, Barbies and a variety of other games and toys were among the items picked by shoppers, who were able to spend up to $75.
