Shuttle to Help Passengers Switch at LIRR Station

The Town of Huntington will provide limited shuttle service to assist Long Island Rail Road customers at the Huntington Station track because the north side elevator has been taken out of service.
Passengers needing to move from one side of the tracks to the other can use HART bus support vehicles.
The shuttle is available Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm on an as-needed basis.
The town announced the service outage and shuttle service Monday on Facebook.
The North side elevator at the Huntington LIRR Station will be out of service for the foreseeable future, the town said.
To request the shuttle, call the HART Bus dispatch office phone number at (631) 427-8287.
Those needing paratransit services are also asked to call that number. When requesting  service, passengers should alert the HART dispatchers which track they are transferring from, from the north or south side of the tracks.
The service will be provided free of charge during the repair period.
The Town said it would  keep residents and riders updated as plans progress.
