South Huntington School Board to Name New Superintendent

The South Huntington school board will name the successor to Dr. David Bennardo at its meeting Wednesday.

Bennardo, who became South Huntington’s superintendent in 2012, announced his retirement in September.  He came from the Harborfields school district, where he had been the high school principal for nine years.

South Huntington said it drew more than 20 applicants seeking to succeed the popular Bennardo, and on Saturday, the board met to decide among three finalists.

The meeting will be livestreamed Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Youtube.
