Spinelli’s Pizzeria and Restaurant will close at the end of the month and reopen in June with a new owner and name.
The restaurant, located in Greenlawn Plaza, will become Sardo’s Pizzeria & Restaurant when Mike and Gennaro Spinelli retire.
Jennifer and Steve Rock, and Craig and Stephanie Buchstein expect to open by mid-June.
“We always said they couldn’t retire, it was my favorite pizza,” Jennifer, who grew up in Greenlawn, said. The Spinellis are giving the new owners their recipes, she said.
Craig Buchstein previously owned a deli while Jennifer Rock was a nurse and is a stay at home mom.
The two couples are friends and neighbors, with their daughters going to college together.
Jennifer said, “We are so excited to take on this new venture in the town we call home. Spinelli’s Pizzeria has been a staple in our community for over 40 years and we hope to continue their legacy.”
