Spray Park to Open July 11

A spray park named for a slain New York City police officer will open July 11 at Elwood Park.

The Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Spray Park will be the first in Huntington. In February, the Town Board voted to appropriate $230,000 on the project.

Sgt. Tuozzolo, a Greenlawn resident, was killed in the Bronx in November 2016 when he approached a man wanted in a home invasion. That gunman was then shot dead by other police on the scene.

The public is invited to the 1 p.m. grand opening.
