St. Anthony’s won the girls soccer CHSAA ‘AA’ championship Saturday morning,defeating Sacred Heart, 1-0.
Eva LaVecchia put the ball in the net in the first half of the hard-fought match.
The Friars captured their ninth consecutive championship on a 9-0 season.
Catholic schools have been playing a limited sports schedule this fall while public schools have rescheduled most sports because of the Covid-19 epidemic. Parents and friends gathered in small numbers Saturday at St. Anthony’s to watch the game from outside the field.
