State Covid-19 Rate Below 1 Percent Again; LI at 1.4 Percent

New York State’s COVID-19 infection rate remains below 1 percent, though it is higher on Long Island, according to figures released Friday.

Thursday,  0.92 percent of tests reported to the state were positive. 

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said that 864 additional cases of novel coronavirus, bringing the statewide total to 437,971 confirmed cases in New York State. 

In Suffolk the number of new cases crept up to 96, for a total of 45,102. Long Island’s infection rate went to 1.4 percent.
