State Expanding Covid-19 Vaccination Sites, Cuomo Says

New York State has 636 sites up and and administering the Covid-19 virus, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Tuesday.

He also said he wants essential worker groups, such as fire and police departments, educators and public transit organizations to begin making plans to vaccinate their workers.

Huntington school superintendent James W. Polansky said, “As schools, we never thought we would be testing on site, but we are.  With guidance from the state and county, it would only make sense for schools to assist in the vaccination roll-out with respect to providing accessible locations.”

The plan is to take some of the work off of hospitals and other vaccination locations, Cuomo said, as more people become eligible to receive the vaccine.

By the end of the week, Cuomo said, the state will have distributed  about 911,000 first doses of the vaccine.

Around the state, 3,762 providers have applied and been approved by the state to serve as vaccination sites. They are:

  1. Why if there were 250 doses did only 35 people get the vaccine? I tried to register for me and my husband, both in our 80’s and were told the vaccine was all accounted for, I don’t understand it.
