Students Graduate from DePauw, Assumption

Neil Pillai, of Melville, along with 472 classmates, became the 179th graduating class of DePauw University. The undergraduates were awarded their degrees during the program which took place in Holton Memorial Quadrangle on May 20th, 2018. Pillai was awarded a BA in Biology. The day’s events included a speech by civil rights legend, attorney and presidential adviser Vernon E. Jordan Jr., DePauw class of ’57.

Michael Mauro, of Commack, was one of 617 graduates to receive a degree during Assumption College’s 101st Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 13, held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, MA, in which speaker The Most Reverend Robert E. Barron, S.T.D., auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and evangelist who uses various forms of media, in particular social media, to share the Gospel message and one of the most-followed Catholics on social media, delivered the Commencement address. Mauro received a bachelor’s degree during the ceremony.
