Students Graduate From Oswego

Several area students completed their baccalaureate studies at SUNY Oswego in summer 2018.

A student who graduates with honors is indicated by the traditional Latin phrases summa cum laude, with highest honor (grade averages of 3.8 to 4.0); magna cum laude, with great honor (grade averages of 3.6 to 3.79); and cum laude, with honor (grade averages of 3.30 to 3.59).

  • Benjamin G. Boucicaut of Stuyvesant Street in Huntington completed a bachelor of arts degree in public relations
  • Dimitri K. Jean of Brand Drive in Huntington completed a bachelor of science degree in business administration
  • Derek Nugent of Park Avenue in Huntington completed a bachelor of arts degree in music
  • Benjamin Black of Court North Drive in Melville completed a bachelor of science degree in business administration

Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly congratulated Black, his constituent, for his success. “As your County Legislator, I am proud to join your family and friends in recognizing you for this accomplishment. This achievement is a true indication of your hard work and dedication to academic excellence.”

A 157-year-old comprehensive college in the State University of New York system, Oswego enrolls about 8,000 students in its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; School of Business; School of Communication, Media and the Arts; and School of Education.
