Suffolk County officials will provide residents with information about the restoration work going on at Coindre Hall at a forum on Feb. 8.
The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Harborfields Public Library and will feature Suffolk County Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, as well as County Parks CommissionerJason Smagin, DPW Commissioner Joe Brown, and County Historian Richard Martin.
The work, which is expected to be completed this summer, has included renovation of a sea wall, a pier and a dilapidated boathouse.
A group of Huntington residents have been campaigning against the project, saying that the renovations would damage the site as a park.
Officials said that the forum would address incorrect information that they say has circulated on social media and at meetings about the direction, impact and goals of the project.
