Summer Arts Festival Gets Underway Next Week

The annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival launches next week, with a mix of dance, singers, community bands, pop music and more scheduled over the next two months.

A performance of Cinderella by Plaza Theatrical will lead off the festival opening June 25, which reserves Tuesday nights for family entertainment.

Among the many artists throughout the summer on a Tuesday-Sunday schedule are the HooDoo Loungers, Huntington Community Band, Lucy Wainwright Roche and her father, Grammy Winner Loudon Wainwright III, Hot Peas N Butter, Blue Dahlia, jazz harpist Edmar Castaneda and Claremont Trio.

Jazz performances will dominate the week of July 16, followed by Americana Folk the next.

World music is on stage starting July 7, while the Huntington Community band will take the stage for five consecutive Wednesdays, starting July 3, and North Shore Pops Concert Band  on July 4.
