Summer Lighthouse Musicfest Canceled

Citing complications related to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society said Monday that it is canceling this year’s  musicfest.

Pam Setchell, president, said the organization has been consulting with state guidelines and tracking the decisions of other outdoor events in the Northeast.

In a letter to supporters, she wrote, “Ultimately, the safety of our crew, musicians and volunteers was at the core of this decision. Limited space on and around the Lighthouse cannot accommodate the number of people it takes to put on the festival.  Additionally, the economic impact of this pandemic has affected all of us, including our loyal sponsors. ”

This cancellation is the second in a row. Last year’s festival was canceled after logistical difficulties couldn’t be overcome.
