St. Baldrick’s event in March 2020 at Walt Whitman High School
St. Baldrick’s may be an imaginary figure, but the good done in their name is real.
Teams have formed in Northport, at Walt Whitman High School and elsewhere in the Huntington area, with sponsors supporting participants to beat childhood cancer.
While many St. Baldrick’s events happen at schools, Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub in Northport is hosting a shaving on March 11, from noon to 5 p.m.
Using the sloan “Brave the Shave,” the Northport school district is inviting people to join teams throughout the district, with a plan to lose their locks to beat cancer set for March 10.
The Walt Whitman Robocats has raised more than $10,000 so far, with Team Maplewood leading the way. Its headshaving date is March 8,
