The Paramount Returns With Brand-New Slate for 2021

For the first time since April 2020, there will be shows and audience members at The Paramount.

The well-known downtown Huntington venue just released its upcoming schedule of shows for the remainder of the year after being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is set to reopen in August, with a full slate of acts running until December. The slate includes a combination of both musical acts and comedians, among others.

The last artist that played at The Paramount was rapper Fetty Wap, on April 8, 2020.

A year-and-a-half later, comedian and Long Island native Jim Breuer will reopen the doors with back-to-back shows on Aug. 20 and 21.

Breuer won’t be the only comedian making an appearance this year. Kevin James, another Long Island native, will have his own back-to-back shows just a week later on Aug.28 and 29. James is most well-known for his films Grown Ups and Paul Blart: Mall Cop, in addition to his long-running television show The King of Queens.

An interesting act will be making its way to The Paramount this year: Piff the Magic Dragon. Piff is an English magician/comedian who was a contestant on America’s Got Talent in 2015. He did well, making it to the Finals as one of the final 10 remaining acts. His show will be on Oct. 24.

If you’re more into music, there are plenty of great musicians set to appear at The Paramount. One of the first big acts of the year is The Beach Boys, who have a show on Aug. 26. Featuring original member Mike Love, the band is going back on tour this year to play a variety of shows across the United States.

In addition to The Beach Boys, another ’60s-era band is scheduled to make an appearance: The Monkees. This show is part of their “Farewell Tour” to celebrate the 55th anniversary of their first album. Even though iconic frontman Davy Jones has passed away, original members Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith will be there to carry the band’s legacy. Their show is set for Oct. 28t.

The Paramount has even made arrangements for its 10th anniversary. On September 28th, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will rock the house. Additionally, another iconic female vocalist will have a show: Pat Benatar. She and her musical partner/husband Neil Giraldo are scheduled to perform on Oct. 9.

Finally, there will be a show of a different kind–neither comedic nor musical. On Dec. 2 and 3, Theresa Caputo is scheduled to appear at The Paramount. Known mostly by her moniker “Long Island Medium,” Caputo is a Long Island native who has gained national acclaim with her television show of the same name.
