Time’s Up: Free Parking in Huntington Village to End Wednesday

Metered parking will  return Wednesday to Huntington Village, as Long Island is expected to enter Phase 3 of reopening of businesses.

For the last two weeks, outdoor dining and indoor retail  allowed under Phase 2 increased parking demand, the town said. The resumption of indoor dining Wednesday is expected to further increase demand for parking and the need to enforce parking time limits.

To avoid touching parking meters, shoppers can use the Passport Parking App to pay for parking or add time to an existing parking spot. Pay for parking online or on the iOS or Android Passport Parking App. Find instructions on how to use the Parking Parking App.

Businesses in the Huntington Village Business District may temporarily reserve up to three metered parking spaces in front of their establishments for curbside pick-up and delivery vehicle parking only. The temporary parking permit allows exclusive use of the metered parking spot by the business and must be renewed monthly. Apply for a Small Business Temporary Parking Permit online.

As the coronavirus epidemic spread in mid-March, the town temporarily waived metered parking fees in Huntington Village to encourage curbside pickup at the few establishments that were operating.
