Top Dogs and a Cat Chosen in Senior Citizen Vote

The seniors have spoken. And chosen their favorite pets.
The second annual Love My Pet photo contest sponsored by Suffolk County Legislator Stephanie Bontempi and Councilman Sal Ferro, drew more than 60 entries.
The winners, chosen by the seniors, were announced recently at the Huntington Senior Center.
They are:
 First Place: Dolores Rendon’s dog Jackson
 Second Place: Viviane Koenig and her dog Bailey
 Third Place: Cindy Gooley and her cat Tinkerbell.
The three winners and their beloved companions will be formally recognized before the June 11 Town Board meeting.
Bontempi  said, “This photo contest has truly highlighted the special bond between our residents and their pets. It’s heartwarming to see how these animals bring so much joy and companionship to their lives. I congratulate all the winners and thank everyone who participated for sharing their wonderful pet stories with us.”
Ferro added, “I love doing this event each year because the excitement and love between a pet and its owner is such a joy to see. The pictures we receive show a piece of that relationship and the bond that exists, the unconditional love that’s so pure. Congratulations to all the winners and all the pet lovers who participated.”
