Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci will co-host a Child & Digital Safety Town Hall with Long Island Citizens for Community Values on Monday, June 11 at 6:30 PM at Huntington Town Hall.
Presentations from experts on healthcare and digital safety — for parents and adults without children — will cover topics including:
· Sexting and cyber bullying
· Social media addiction
· Impaired cognitive development due to early digital dependency
· Effectively managing your children’s screen time on their tablets and smartphones
· Risks of unregulated access to indecent and obscene material to minors via all digital devices
“We want to equip parents with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively manage their children’s digital screen time, limit access to inappropriate material, and be aware of how to handle other digital threats, like cyber bullying,” Lupinacci said.
Long Island Citizens for Community Values (LICCV) is a not-for-profit organization working to protect the community from obscene and indecent material.
