Carmen Kasper, the Town of Huntington’s director of human services, has been suspended, several town sources have reported.
The suspension occurred earlier this week and came after a complaint from another worker about an inappropriate comment she allegedly made to him.
The human services department manages programs for senior citizens, veterans, minority residents, women, and people with disabilities.
The town did not immediately respond to queries.
Kasper previously was director of world languages for the Huntington school district. She retired from the district in 2015, and ran unsuccessfully for the Board of Education in 2016.
She was appointed to the town job in August 2018. The town referred to her that year as “the Town’s recently appointed history-making first Latina Director of Human Services.”
No other information as immediately available.
