Town to Reopen Beach House, Senior Center for Activities

The Town of Huntington Senior Center will reopen Tuesday for activities only  starting Tuesday, January 18 while it continues to remain closed for indoor dining, and only with reservations.

The senior beach house will also reopen Tuesday on a limited basis.

The Senior Center will remain closed to indoor dining; home delivered meals and the meal pickup drive-through for registered seniors on the Nutrition Program at the Senior Center, which usually occurs on Mondays, will take place on Tuesday this coming week because Monday the center is closed for the observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The town listed the following schedule:

SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES 

Gymnasium (Entrance by Red Awning), 423 Park Avenue, Huntington (631) 351-3253

Classes Tuesdays-Fridays by Reservation Only Call (631) 351-3253 One Day Ahead)

The Senior Center will be opening in a limited capacity by reservation Tuesday through Friday only for activities starting January 18.Reservations may only be booked one day in advance. Please see details below. 

Reopening Tuesday, January 18:  

  • Maximum 30 people (reservation only, call (631) 351-3253 no more than one day ahead)
  • Reservation for activities Tuesday, January 18 only must be made on Friday due to holiday closure Monday, January 17 
  • Limited to currently registered seniors
  • Vaccinated only (accommodations made if not vaccinated, must show doctor’s proof of exemption)
  • Mask required indoors (except when exercising)
  • Temperature taken daily
  • 1 or 2 activities per day
  • Varied, limited activities based on instructor availability
  • Must enter and exit through door with red awning
  • No meals included

  • Limited to currently registered seniors
  • Mask required indoors (except when eating or drinking)
  • Temperature taken daily
