Toy Donations Welcome at Saturday’s Winter Wonderland

Residents heading to the Winter Wonderland in Dix Hills Saturday are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys, toys or games to donate to others in need.

“Entry and ice skating are free for everyone at this weekend’s Winter Wonderland event at Dix Hills Ice Rink but we are asking for donations to help make Christmas a little more merry for underprivileged children this year,” said Huntington Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci. “Don’t let a child wake up Christmas morning without a present to open – please donate new, unwrapped toys, books or games.”

Toys may also be dropped off in the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots donation boxes at the following Town facilities now through Dec. 20:

  • Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington
  • Dix Hills Ice Rink, 575 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills
  • Huntington Highway Department, 30 Rofay Drive, Huntington
  • Town Senior Center, 423 Park Avenue, Huntington

Donations can also be made at ToysForTots.org. Those wishing to volunteer or to host Toys for Tots donation boxes may contact Maj. Chuck Kilbride at (516) 902-0934.
