Toy Giveaway in Huntington Station Marks Three Kings Day

Volunteers handed out gifts to children at St. Hugh of Lincoln Church Thursday to celebrate Three Kings Day.

The event was hosted by Housing Help Inc., with the help of several other organizations, including Suffolk Police Second Precinct.  Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison and Deputy Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis, and Inspector William Scrima, commander of the Second Precinct, all participated in the celebration.

Helping support the event were The Church of St. Patrick, St. Hugh Of Lincoln, United Way of Long Island, the Huntington Community Development Agency, St. John’s Episcopal Church of Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Department of Human Services, Minority Affairs Division, Helping Hand Rescue Mission, Huntington Project HOPE, Hombres de Palabra NY, Huntington Rapid Response Network and the Tri CYA.

Mac’s Snack Shack provided churros, hot cocoa, popcorn and pretzels.

State Sen. Jim Gaughran, State Assemblyman Steve Stern, and Police Officer Claudia Delgado portrayed the three kings; Council members Joan Cergol and David Bennardo and Suffolk County Legislator Stephanie Bontempi participated in giving away toys, as did Huntington Minority Affairs Director Kevin Thorbourne.
